I get to Drive across the river frequently with a 460 John Deere Haul truck.
A great spot for paddle boarding. Lots of bridges in this area so you can park in a shady spot for a while. Also, several sections along the Riverwalk have very pretty crêpe, myrtles and flowers. not quite the cleanest water if you want to swim. A really good spot for family fun.
I never been here but just read in the news that is the second time they spotted an alligator 🐊 attacking a duck and then chasing a turtle! So be careful if you swim there! …
Pictures of Brazos River in flood stage. Some pictures are from our home and the rest were taken at Dewey park and Doris Miller memorial park
Great place for a family day or just some alone time on a walk
Good place for serenity, decent fishing, a bit of roughing it, some remote camping. Not the best for swimming. Feral pigs will pay you a visit.
i enjoy walking the Brazos River bottom and if you walk back far enough you can pop off a few rounds
One of the few protected harbors on the South West Texas coast line. In Freeport. Has a nice marina with wet and dry slips. Easy access. Protected by the flood gates and a 21 ft high levee.
Definatly a neat place, but one can expect other people to just show up, if you can maneuver around without going on private property TOO much, it's an excellant place to explore.
Love to fish. This was a very nice place. Plenty of red, sheep head, flounder, catfish, sand trout and whites.
